Laibach have produced many memorable cover versions of already popular songs. Unlike most artists who are content to simply change the tempo of a song, Laibach bring out, exaggerate, or change the meanings and atmosphere of the original. The atmosphere of the song usually becomes darker, and in most instances I believe the song is improved. Often Laibach even change the lyrics to a song to suit their purpose.

Laibach's' album 'NATO' is comprised wholly of cover versions, as is their version of 'The Beatles last album 'Let It Be'. The cover versions on the 'NATO' album seem to chart, and predict, the conflict in the Balkans, whilst the earlier 'Let It Be' album reflects on the fragmentation of Yugoslavia (just as the original perhaps mirrored the fragmentation of 'The Beatles'). Some of Laibach's cover versions, such as their version of Juno Reactors 'God Is God' have only slight resemblance to the original; the original is used as a springboard to an almost entirely different song.
