This is a cover of Stanislav Binički's 'Marš na Drinu', a song honouring
the Serbian efforts at the Battle of Cer during WWI. This tune/song is
closely associated with Serbian nationalism and is sometimes chanted at
football matches. Despite not having the
original lyrics about war, sacrifice, blood, and bravery, Laibach's
version is darker, mysterious, and more powerful than any of the other
renditions that I have heard. This comparison has
Baja Kali Knindza, singing the original.
Laibach are not the only ones to cover this tune in there own way.
Here are Belgium twangy guitar band
The
Jokers from 1963 with 'Drina March'.
