Get Back: Let It Be
(click song title to hear comparison)

Laibach covered the entire 'Let It Be' album by The Beatles. The Laibach version of the album is strange and wide ranging (see review on audio page). I believe that the Laibach version of 'Get Back' is very much in the same style as 'Life Is Life', or 'God Is God', or 'Final Countdown'. It is very accessible, whilst still having a message.
The song, as the album, charts the fragmentation of Yugoslavia into it's often hostile old ethnic territories. "Get back to where you once belong!" is an obvious message, that has come violently true in the Balkans. Earlier, now bootleg, versions of the Beatles 'Get Back' contained a notorious No Pakistanis verse.

Here is the video of The Beatles 'Get Back'.
